Shoebox Stories “Host Your Own” is an intimate story-holding project for 4-8 people. Invite members of your community to gather together and stand in another person’s shoes by reading aloud their story, saying their words and feeling the weight they carry.

Women of Resolution is the story of four women living in sanctuary: Araceli Velasquez, Ingrid Encalada Latorre, Rosa Sabido, and Sandra Lopez. These four Colorado women took sanctuary in churches and synagogues to prevent from being deported and separated from their families.

UndocuAmerica features the autobiographical stories of undocumented community leaders with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) status. Story themes include the threat of deportation; the injustice of being sent into exile from the country in which you were raised; border patrol; the current human and civil rights threats to immigrants; racial profiling. These powerful stories represent the pain, struggles, and resilience of so many undocumented Americans.

Purchase of a Shoebox Stories Hosting Toolkit at the Home License price constitutes the purchaser’s agreement to the following terms of use. In consideration for payment received, the Licensor (Motus Theater) will send the Licensee (the purchaser) a Shoebox Stories Hosting Toolkit of the title purchased and grants him or her the right host community readings with friends, family, and community members in private, i.e. non-institutional settings, for the useful life the toolkit. The Licensee agrees that he or she will not rent or sell this toolkit to any individual, institution or organization nor allow it to be used as part of any program of formal instruction, professional practice, in-service training, public advocacy or as a performance open to the general public (public performance). The Licensor grants permission to the Licensee to donate the Toolkit to another individual. Explicitly excluded from this grant of rights is the right to copy the purchased toolkit, to encode its contents into a digital file or to deliver its content by any form of digital delivery.
