Join Motus Theater for a Shoebox Stories podcast performance centered around the importance of using our vote.
Ai-jen Poo, the Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, reads Motus UndocuAmerica monologist Victor Galvan’s autobiographical story illustrating the perseverance behind his battle cry as an immigrant rights leader. They share anecdotes about getting out the vote and remind us all that this is, perhaps, the most critical election of our generation. The event will include a musical response from esteemed jazz vocalist, Robert Johnson.
This recording is a part of our Shoebox Stories podcast featuring prominent Americans like humanitarian chef, Jose Andres; NYT writer, Nicholas Kristoff; and feminist icon, Gloria Steinem. They step into the shoes of Motus’ undocumented monologists by reading aloud their stories and, for a moment, holding the weight that they carry.
This performance is presented by Motus Theater - creators of UndocuAmerica, Women of Resolution, Rocks Karma Arrows, and the Shoebox Stories Podcast.
