Motus Theater & the Longmont Museum present TRANSformative Stories, featuring transgender and non-binary leaders performing artfully crafted personal stories about their hopes, dreams, and experiences of negotiating oppression and liberation with live musical accompaniment. Join together as a community as we celebrate the humanity, joy, and gifts of gender diverse leaders who are on the frontlines of dehumanizing rhetoric and policies. Monologists include Raye Watson (they/them), Ruby Lopez (she/her) and Dr. Morgan Henry Seamont (he/him).

Join Rep. Brianna Titone and Colorado State Legislators to honor International Transgender Day of Visibility through a special performance of Motus Theater’s TRANSformative Stories project sharing artfully crafted autobiographical monologues of transgender and nonbinary people about their experiences of oppression and liberation. Featured monologists include Ruby Lopez (she/her) and Dr. Morgan Henry Seamont (he/him) and music by acclaimed Colorado violinist Anthony Salvo.

In this special presentation from Motus Theater’s TRANSformative Stories project, David Breña (he/him) and Alison Reba (they/them) take center stage to share their stories, define their own lives, revel in their self love, and inspire change. The performance features a musical response from award-winning CU Boulder alum, cellist and composer Nelson Walker (they/them). The performance will be followed by a talkback with the artists.
