MONOLOGUIST’S BIO

Kiara Chávez migrated to Denver with her family at the age of four from Colima, Mexico. She attended a KIPP charter school in Denver where she now serves as the Advocacy and Community Engagement Coordinator. In her role at KIPP, Kiara supports parent leaders, principals, and community members to connect with instrumental resources. She graduated from CU Boulder’s Leeds School of Business with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and has a passion for design. Her experience as an immigrant has fueled her passion for social justice.

About Motus Theater’s collaboration with muralist edica pacha

Muralist Edica Pacha is installing 12 murals (six in Denver and six in Boulder, Colorado) featuring Motus Theater UndocuAmerica project monologists. Each mural includes a QR code to the English and Spanish video of the monologist reading their own story. Regardless of your perspective on immigration, the UndocuAmerica project allows you to know more about the impact of current immigration policies on the lives of undocumented families in Colorado.
