Experience mural portraits of DACA-mented leaders whose stories of resilience are brought to life with QR codes linking to their personal monologues. Originally installed in 2022 and targeted by anti-immigrant vandalism, this exhibition is a healing response to erasure and exclusion.

Edica Pacha created the original murals featuring Motus Theater’s UndocuAmerica monologists. Pacha's love affair with creativity began with film photography, and long hours in the darkroom, at the age of 14. She took this gift and studied further at Rhode Island School of Design and Prescott College. During this time she expanded into video, installation, and performance art. Her studies took her deep into the power of creativity and how this impacted community. Pacha currently is focusing on large-scale photographic murals using a unique ‘layered in camera’ photographic style, that explores the mystical and mysterious sides of the feminine. She is interested in themes that deeply impact the human experience and uses the medium to address issues that we are currently facing such as immigration and indigenous rights.

The immigration system uses false rhetoric to justify aggressive immigration policies that exploit undocumented immigrants, rip families apart, and undermine our obligation to recognize undocumented immigrants’ humanity and their contributions to this nation.
The UndocuAmerica Project aims to interrupt the dehumanizing portrayals of immigrants by encouraging thoughtful engagement on the challenges facing the undocumented community and the assets immigrants bring to our country. Motus works with undocumented leaders to help them write powerful stories about their lives and then uses performances, podcasts and media to reach a wider audience.
In 2022, Motus collaborated with muralist Edica Pacha, who created these mural images, which were installed in public spaces across Denver and Boulder. Some of the murals were subject to anti-immigrant vandalism, leading Motus to feature these artworks and the accompanying stories at indoor spaces across our communities.
