Rabbi Fred Greene of Congregation Har HaShem in Boulder will be reading aloud Alejandro Fuentes-Mena’s autobiographical story of hard work, familial love, and one man’s journey to becoming one of the first two DACAmented teachers in the country. The reading will be followed by both personal and theological reflections on the importance of sacred hospitality, and the impact of stepping into the shoes of an undocumented neighbor. 

This performance is part of Motus Theater’s Shoebox Stories project and our We Were Strangers series - a collaboration with Jewish leaders who express moral courage and civic hospitality as they read aloud the story of an undocumented person and reflect both personally and theologically on seeing the world through the eyes of an immigrant.
