Together we join our voices to honor our calling to speak out against the profiling, persecution, and execution of our siblings of color. - St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
Rev. Allan Cole from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, will be reading aloud Alejandro Fuentes-Mena’s autobiographical story of hard work, familial love, and his journey to becoming one of the first two DACAmented teachers in this country. The reading will be followed by both personal and theological reflections on the importance of sacred hospitality, and the impact of stepping into the shoes of an undocumented person.
This performance is part of Motus Theater’s Shoebox Stories project and our Welcoming the Stranger series - a collaboration with faith leaders who express moral courage and civic hospitality as they read aloud the story of an undocumented person and reflect both personally and theologically on seeing the world through the eyes of an immigrant.
Sponsored by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Church in Colorado.
Motus Theater is working creatively to meet the needs of people to connect meaningfully while honoring Safer-at-Home practices during the pandemic, and to find ways of reflecting on the ongoing challenges facing our community and democracy.
